Short version: PassForge generates passwords entirely on your device. We collect no personal data, require no account, and transmit nothing off your device. All saved passwords are stored locally and are only accessible by you.

Section 01

About This Policy

CORAL BYTE (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED ("we", "our", "us") operates the mobile application PassForge (the "App"), available on the Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information — or rather, how we deliberately avoid handling it — when you use our App.

By installing or using PassForge, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the App.

Section 02

Information We Collect

PassForge is a fully offline utility application. We do not collect, store, process, or transmit any personal information from users. The following confirms what we do not do:

  • No account creation or registration required
  • No collection of names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any contact information
  • No location data collected or tracked
  • No device fingerprinting or unique device identifiers collected
  • No analytics or behavioral tracking of any kind
  • No advertisements displayed
  • No in-app purchases
  • No data transmitted to our servers (we do not operate any servers)
  • No data shared with third parties

The App operates entirely on your device. Any passwords you generate or save remain exclusively on your device in local storage.

Section 03

Android Permissions

Based on our current manifest configuration, PassForge requests no Android permissions from users. The App does not require access to any sensitive device features or data. Specifically, PassForge does not request permission to access:

  • Internet access — the app is fully offline
  • Storage / files on your device
  • Camera or microphone
  • Location (GPS or network-based)
  • Contacts or call logs
  • SMS or phone state
  • Biometric sensors
  • Notifications (not requested)
Note: Passwords you choose to save are stored using Android's SharedPreferences, which is sandboxed to the App's private internal storage. No file-system permission is needed for this, and no other app can access this data.
Section 04

Third-Party SDKs & Libraries

PassForge uses a small set of standard Android and Jetpack libraries to provide its user interface and functionality. The table below lists each library, its owner, and its sole purpose within the App.

Library / SDK Owner / Provider Purpose in PassForge
AndroidX Core KTX Google / Android Open Source Project Core Kotlin extensions for Android APIs; window insets, compatibility utilities
AndroidX AppCompat Google / Android Open Source Project Backward-compatible Activity and UI components; ensures consistent behavior across Android versions (API 26+)
Material Components for Android Google LLC UI components including Cards, Switches, Buttons, Sliders, and TextInputLayouts used throughout the App's interface
AndroidX Activity Google / Android Open Source Project Modern Activity APIs and result handling contracts
AndroidX ConstraintLayout Google / Android Open Source Project Flexible view positioning and responsive layouts within screens
AndroidX CoordinatorLayout Google / Android Open Source Project Root layout enabling the floating Generate button to anchor correctly at the bottom of all screens
AndroidX NestedScrollView Google / Android Open Source Project Scrollable content areas that work correctly alongside the floating button and CoordinatorLayout
Android SharedPreferences Google / Android Open Source Project Local, device-only key-value storage used to save user-generated passwords and app preferences. No data leaves the device.
JUnit (Test only) JUnit Project (junit.org) Unit testing framework — used only during development, not included in the release build distributed to users
AndroidX Test / Espresso (Test only) Google / Android Open Source Project UI testing framework — used only during development, not included in the release build distributed to users
Important: None of the above libraries collect personal data, initiate network requests, or transmit any information outside your device when used within PassForge. They are used solely for rendering the user interface and providing core application functionality.
Section 05

Disclaimer of SDK Ownership

All third-party software development kits (SDKs), libraries, frameworks, and tools referenced in this policy and used within PassForge are the exclusive intellectual property of their respective owners and licensors.

CORAL BYTE (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED does not claim any ownership, authorship, or rights over any third-party software components. These libraries are used solely in compliance with their respective open-source licenses (primarily the Apache License 2.0 and the Eclipse Public License for JUnit). Their inclusion does not imply any partnership, endorsement, or affiliation between CORAL BYTE (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED and the respective library owners.

References to Google, Android, Jetpack, Material Design, JUnit, and any other third-party names and trademarks are used for identification purposes only.

Section 06

Data Storage & Local Passwords

Any passwords you choose to save using the "Save" feature are stored exclusively on your device using Android's internal SharedPreferences mechanism. This storage is:

  • Private to the PassForge app — no other app can read it
  • Stored only on your physical device — never uploaded or backed up to our servers
  • Fully under your control — you can delete all saved passwords at any time via Settings → Clear Saved Passwords
  • Automatically removed if you uninstall the App
Recommendation: For sensitive passwords, we strongly recommend using a dedicated password manager with encryption. PassForge's save feature uses standard Android SharedPreferences which, while private, is not encrypted.
Section 07

Children's Privacy

PassForge is a general-purpose utility application that is safe for users of all ages. Because we collect absolutely no personal data from any user, children can use this App without risk of their information being gathered, stored, or shared.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Since no data collection occurs at all, this is inherently satisfied.

Section 08

Security

The most effective security measure PassForge employs is the complete absence of data collection and transmission. Since the App does not send any information outside your device, there is no risk of data breaches, unauthorized server access, or interception of personal data in transit.

All password generation logic runs locally using Kotlin's standard Random class. Generated passwords are never logged, cached in memory beyond the active session, or written to any shared location on your device.

Section 09

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an App update notice on the Google Play Store.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
